Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The confidentiality of the client-therapist relationship is safeguarded by law, and information shared during sessions remains strictly confidential unless written permission is granted.
However, there are exceptions, including:
- Suspected cases of child abuse, dependent adult abuse, or elder abuse, which I am legally obligated to report immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- If a client poses a threat of serious bodily harm to themselves or others, I am required to notify law enforcement and inform the potential victim(s).
- If a client expresses intent to harm themselves, I will endeavor to collaborate with them to ensure their safety. Should cooperation be unattainable, I am mandated by law to take necessary actions, even without their consent, to prevent harm.
These measures are in place to uphold the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
